what is happening down under

Postby thedigger » Wed Aug 09, 2017 6:12 am

Our winter seems to drag on,but another month ,and the weather will be turning pleasant.
But here in my home state ,the greens are at again trying to make access to the best gold nugget patch on the planet ,closed to us prospectors,it is known as the golden triangle, where some of the best and most nuggets were found, and are still turning up.
We recentley had a meeting here in Creswick to bring our concerns to the Government,so we had good roll up of the press.

On other matters, the Discovery channel have been making the "Aussie Gold Hunters" in WA.It is what you could say that it has been well sugar coated, gold just popping out of the ground every where,if it was that easy I would over there. From what I have heard lots of people, ground hard to get on to,and the "Gold Police" have been chasing illegal prospecting.

Thanks for the info. Maybe someday "Drones" will be used with Metal Detectors & IR. Thanks, RuffandTuff.

I find it more than a bit disturbing that the bad guys want to turn the land and its use over to "government agencies". We, USA, made that mistake years ago. Once the various agencies, BLM, USFS, EPA along with the State clones got involved, more and more was taken and put off limits to we the people and our uses. Cornifornia is complaining about all of the forest fires that they are having. It is of their own making. No dead timber and under brush can be removed. No new fire breaks, logging trails and old fire breaks and trails are not being tended. Then there is perhaps the greatest stupidity. Building houses in fire prone areas. Nature will find a way of righting the wrongs. Of course, the agencies want to blame the campers, arson or man related actions instead of their bad policies!

Hello there Prospector.
There needs to be a lot more fuel reduction,to eases the danger of gigantic wild fires, that was lesson was learnt here several years ago.
But the battle continues with the bureaucrates in the big smoke, who think they know everything.
But your assessment of the problem is spot on.
