That video is exactly how I will get my first vette, been wanting one since the first Stingray came out!!!

My father worked for Chevrolet for 34 years and then retired, they never let him bring one home from work and didn't give him one when he retired.

Love the C3 Vettes, did a partial resto on a big block '68 and a frameoff resto on a '73 L82 with my son Chris during the years I was stationed in Fl. Found the '68 buried under mountains of trash in a shed in Clearwater in 2002. The original owner was working on the car but passed away in 1992. His kids piled up all the stuff from the house into the shed so they could rent the house out. Sat that way for over a decade, original engine was pulled and sitting off in the corner under a pile of mouse-infested patio furniture pads. Unreal. Took 2 days to get it out of that shed. :x

I found the silver 73 L-82 rotting under a tree in Spring Hill left victim of a divorce. Stole that one for $1,500 in 2004 and adopted the "stolenvette" email address I still use. Sold them both in 2005 when I got orders to DC as I had no way to move or store them. Big regret there. Even though I'm fond of the C2's and C3's, I love the 2009 ZR1 and am saving pennies waiting for typical 10-year depreciation to occur. Love the new ZO6's as well, stupid power that embarrasses everything on the road. Just a wee bit out of my price range.

Mr. Adawg, the first car that I purchased was a new 1960 Vette. I never sat in a Vette until it was delivered to my parents home. Sometime later, I was scheduled to be drafted in the U.S. Army. I coordinated with a Army Recruiter and the day that I was scheduled to be drafted, I enlisted in the U.S. Army Security Agency. While overseas, I gave my father permission to sell the Vette. Thanks, RuffandTuff.

Roland, did you ever get to drive it? This story breaks my heart, :( I hope the new owner enjoyed it. 1960 was a fantastic year IMO, they broke the 10,000 sales figure that year and the 315HP "fuelie" was a stomper. Those 58-62's are tough to find, gorgeous cars with class, good speed, and sexy lines.

Hummm, let me guess, your color was either Ermine White or Roman Red? I can picture a young Roland T. Harris speeding around in that coupe :D

Mr. Shack, I had the Vette for 2 years prior to my Military Service. When my younger brother got married, I loaned the Vette to my him and his bride for a trip to Florida. Exterior color - white, interior - blue. Soft top only. Thanks, RuffandTuff.

Whilst I am a Ferrari fanatic, sorry that's what I grew up around, I do have an appreciation for Corvette and their Lemans heritage. This year marks the 50 year anniversary of Corvettes entering the world's premier race, the 24 hours of Lemans.

No other American car manufacture has represented the US in the 24 hours of Lemans for that length of time.

Their record is pretty awesome, they are regularly standing atop the podium. Lately, winning the 24 hours of Daytona race. They have no problem accepting challenges from the likes of Ferrari, Aston Martin, or Porsche to name a few.

I was fortunate had a 77 Cherry red T top vette for a few years- still wish I had not sold it but was married then and became a frill not a necessity. Then again the way gas prices behaved I could not afford to feed that gas guzzler. It was an awesome car. You push that gas peddle down and those 4 barrels kick in - that thing would flat get down. I thought my cobra mustang was bad but the vette put it to shame. Rent one or borrow one it's cheaper. Then again I may have done better keeping the car and losing the wife.
