A day in the bush

Postby thedigger » Wed Apr 19, 2017 6:17 am

This year I have not done much with the dry blower [as we call them in this part of the world] but with the wetter season closing in,with my good mate Rod,we ventured out to a spot that has been kind to us over the years.
We wanted to know whether the pipe clay or the orange gravel carried any fine gold.Over the years we have picked up nuggets up to 18 grams at this part of the diggings.
The original holes would have gone down to about 10 ft,the diggers would have tunneled under bottom,to get the wash

We find a wheel barrow is the best thing to use to get to the spot.you can navigate around the holes and trees.

The first run we put through was the orange gravel, which produced very little gold.

The pipe clay was also disappointing,so those two boxes have "X" marked
But the weather was perfect, but as they "a day prospecting is better than a day at work"
